PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Fire Station 8 is an expansion of the existing fire station to accommodate more staff and equipment for current and future needs.

The design of the renovated Station #8 in Portola Valley will enable the Fire District to house the necessary number of vehicles, equipment, and staff to meet current and future service needs.

Key elements to upgrading the stations’ emergency response capabilities include:

Increase capacity for additional fire fighters
Add additional App Bay capacity for an additional engine
Infrastructure for modernizing emergency response systems
Increased Office space
Improved training and turn out facilities

When is the project scheduled to complete?
- Completion is currently scheduled for November of 2023.

Will this impact Fire Protection and EMS Services?
- No. The addition to Station 8 is being schedule so that disruption to the core services will not be impacted. Temporary Restrooms and showers are even being brought in to allow firefighter personnel to remain on-site and on duty for the community.
